The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has authorized STE to build pressure vessels in accordance with the requirements of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. The ASME Certificate of Authorization for manufacturers of vacuum tanks is highly regarded. When authorized to declare the ASME Certification, a manufacturer can ensure the customer of consistent manufacturing materials and procedures. This provides safety, peace of mind and limits customer liability.
In order to become ASME Certified, STE had to use specific tools like calipers, micrometers, and pressure gauges, and ASME and the National Board manuals to support the verification process necessary in the pressure vessel industry. STE had to design and build a sample pressure vessel that was extensively tested for the stainless steel quality, our welds, tolerances, dimensions, and engineering accuracy.
Simulation calculations for implosion and explosion of tanks, to ensure that they would not rupture or collapse under positive and negative pressures, were completed. Each and every step had to be passed completely in order to receive certification. ASME audits were used to confirm the results. Product testing and documentation of material purchases and usage must be maintained at all times.
